Making an investor-facing site perform as well as it looks

Client

Odd Bird VC

2026

Delivered in collaboration with bilal.agency. Odd Bird VC needed their investor-facing site to hold up to scrutiny, not just look sharp. The project covered a native rebuild of SEO-blocking code components, a full responsive pass across breakpoints and mobile, and a DNS fix that was quietly breaking the site for some visitors. The goal was a site that reads cleanly to both investors and search engines.

Scope of Work

SEO Component Rebuild
Responsive Redesign
DNS Setup
Mobile Optimization

The hero, founder quotes, and portfolio "moments" grid were all built as client-side code components. They looked right but rendered in a way search engines can't reliably read, which is a real cost for a firm actively raising. Those sections were rebuilt natively in Framer, pixel-identical to the original design, so nothing changed visually but the content became fully crawlable.

Scaling was inconsistent above certain breakpoints. Content was capped at 1728px, the default width of a 16" MacBook Pro, to stop images from softening on larger screens, then extended to 2000px once the client's feedback showed a wider audience needed covering. Padding was brought down from 60px to 32-48px so the team image grid stopped feeling cramped at the 1200-1280px range.

Mobile needed real restructuring, not just shrinking. Sections that worked side by side on desktop were rebuilt to stack vertically on phones, spacing was tightened, and a clear visual hierarchy was added throughout. The navbar was also fixed to hold up at smaller sizes.

A quieter but important fix: the domain's root record wasn't fully configured. The www version pointed to the site correctly, but oddbirdvc.com itself was missing the A records in Framer, meaning some visitors in some regions weren't reliably reaching the site at all. That got corrected and verified through propagation.

Delivery went through staging first. Team and Companies pages went live on a preview URL for review, feedback came back as screenshots, and each round was closed out before moving to the next. The final pass covered the full site scaling smoothly up to 1800+ pixels before it was published to production.

After launch, a few rounds of smaller fixes followed on the home page and image spacing, plus one more round of clarification on the max-width behavior on very large screens. Each was resolved quickly and the client confirmed the site was tracking well.

Bilal and his team did an exceptional job. His persistence throughout the project and patience with our requests ensured we always got the highest quality output. Many designers stop once the basics are delivered, but Bilal and his team went further by iterating until the work truly matched our expectations, even beyond the initial deliverable.
